Albert “Al” Charles Edwin Brown, of Freeman, Missouri, was born January 7, 1922 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Charles Edwin and Desiree Ermine Rosemarie (Ghem) Brown. He departed this life on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Research Belton Hospital, Belton, Missouri at the age of 90 years and 2 months.
On May 2, 1979, Al was united in marriage to Margery Belle Reynolds in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
Al was a Senior Tool Designer at Bendix in Kansas City, Missouri until his retirement on October 30, 1981. He was a longtime member of the Worship Center, Harrisonville. Al enjoyed woodworking, machining, designing, restoring and refurbishing old machinery. Al and Marge enjoyed square dancing and for many years, they were instructors for round dancing. Al enjoyed life to the fullest with many friends and family. He celebrated his 90th birthday on January 7, 2012 with a surprise party.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Allen Brown and a brother, Frank Edward Brown.
Al is survive by his wife of 33 years, Margery B. Brown of the home; a son, Rodney Wayne Brown and wife Pennie, Raymore, Missouri; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; two step- daughters, Tamra Overturf, Grandview, Missouri, Terri McMurry, Blue Springs, Missouri; a step-son, Timothy Scrivener, Independence, Missouri; 8 step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Elinor Danelle Weightman, Deer Park, Washington, a brother, Charles E. Brown, Deer Lodge, Montana; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
