Alice Marie (Shay) Richardson, 72, of Dayton, Missouri died on April 20th, 2013 at Golden Years Nursing Home, Harrisonville, MO. Alice was born Jan 31, 1941 in Greenbush, KS to Michael J. Sr. and Frances Conner Shay.
Alice left southeast Kansas in 1953 moving to Kansas City, MO.
She graduated from Aladdin Beauty College in Kansas City in 1958 and from Southeast High School in Kansas City in 1959.
In 1962, Alice married William (Bill) Richardson Jr. in Kansas City. They resided in Kansas City, Belton, and Dayton, Missouri. Bill preceded Alice in death in March 1998 after 35 years of marriage.
Alice worked as a beautician and later at various factory jobs. She loved crocheting, sewing, and various crafts. She spent many “Precious Hours” with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Alice was a Christian.
Survivors include one son Dennis Richardson and wife Rosa of Goodrich, Texas; three daughters, Dennise and husband Cary Brown of Kingsville MO; Debra Smith, Harrisonville, MO; and Dana and husband Dave Lewis, Dayton MO; six granddaughters, three grandsons, and three great grandchildren; one brother, Kirk Shay, and two sisters, Mary Deadrick and Shirley Mickleboro.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Mike Jr., Charles and Bud Shay, and one sister, Joan Guyer.
The family would like to thank the staff of Golden Years Nursing Home and Serenity Hospice who provided wonderful care for Alice in her final days.
Per Alice’s wishes, there will be a cremation and no services
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.
