Mrs. Barbara Ann Turner, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born June 20, 1938 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Elmer Jess and Willene Ethel (Lovell) O'Dell. She departed this life Monday, March 5, 2007, at her home in Harrisonville at the age of 68 years, 8 months and 15 days.
On May 12, 1969, Barbara was united in marriage to Bobby Dean Turner in Freeman, Missouri.
Barbara was employed as an accountant for AT&T, Kansas City, Missouri until her retirement in 1987. She attended Welborn Elementary School and was a 1956 graduate of Washington High School both of Kansas City, Kansas. She was a member of the National Honor Society. Barbara enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, being outdoors and animals. She was a wonderful, caring mother, grandmother and was a good friend and warm hearted. Barbara was not a selfish person and often would go without in order to help someone else. She had lived in Kansas City before moving to Archie, Missouri in 1972 and then to Harrisonville in 2005.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Dean on February 17, 1986.
She is survived by two sons, Michael D. Lawson and wife Debbie, Archie, Missouri, Jeffrey Turner and wife Kimberly, Harrisonville, Missouri; a daughter, Deana Turner, Archie, Missouri; two step-sons, Clint Turner, Holden, Missouri, Curtis Turner and wife Penny, Centerview, Missouri; a step-daughter, Cheryl Tate and husband Herb, Warrensburg, Missouri; two grandchildren, Ryan and Corey Turner; 10 step-grandchildren; a twin sister, Sharon Greenhaw, Independence, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 10, 2007 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Cremation with inurnment in the Everett, Missouri Cemetery.
