Bertie 'Bert' Proctor

Bertie (Bert) L. Proctor, of Peculiar, Missouri, was born December 30, 1928 in Fristoe, Missouri the son of Birchie Hobert and Carrie Edna (Nease) Proctor. He departed this life on Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Lee’s Summit Medical Center, Lee’s Summit, Missouri at the age of 85 years and 21 days.
On August 4, 1950, Bert was united in marriage to Jane Norene Kreissler in Warsaw, Missouri.
Bert was employed as a service tech for 30 years for several Buick Dealerships in the Kansas City area including Jerry Smith Buick and later was a machinist for 12 years. He was a baptized and confirmed on March 11, 1956 into the Lutheran Faith at Blue Ridge Lutheran Church, Raytown, Missouri and was a member of the Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Bert enjoyed woodworking and fishing but one of his greatest enjoyments was traveling in his 5th wheel to many different places with his wife, Jane and his family. He lived in the Kansas City area until moving to Peculiar in 1967.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bert is survived by his wife Jane N. Proctor of the home; his two sons, Richard Lee Proctor and his wife Julie of Seattle, Washington, and Dennis Gene Proctor and his wife Barbara of Peculiar, Missouri; four grandchildren, Angela Plumb, Kansas City, Missouri, Jennifer (Matt) Cox, Raymore, Missouri, Kimberly (Barry) Martin, Overland Park, Kansas, Christopher (Michelle) Proctor, Peculiar, Missouri; ten great-grandchildren, Nathan, Nicholas and Madalyn Halterman, Zaylee and Ava Cox, Reid and Lucas Martin, Owen, Brylee and Hudson Proctor; two brothers, Byrl D. Proctor of Boyd, Texas, and Bill I. Proctor of Reno, Nevada; one nephew; one niece; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 23, 2014 the Gethsemane Lutheran Church 1025 S.W. Ward Rd, Lee's Summit, Missouri with burial in the Wills Cemetery, Peculiar, Missouri.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Nebraska Lutheran High School or to the Mt. Olive Lutheran School and may be sent in care of Dickey Funeral Home P.O. Box 432 Harriosnville, Missouri.
