Betty Fern DeLapp Capps was born October 14, 1934 in Creighton, Missouri the daughter of Wilmer Vernon and Edna Bernice (Jones) Sites. She departed this life on Friday, December 14, 2012 at St. Luke’s East, Lee’s Summit, Missouri at the age of 78 years and 2 months.
On September 2, 1967, Betty was united in marriage to William Lee DeLapp and later to Archie Eugene Capps in June of 1991.
Betty was employed as an Office Manager for Paris Playing Card Company until her retirement. She was also a Mary Kay Cosmetics Representative since 1981. Betty was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #357, Kansas City, Missouri. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning and any opportunity to work outside. Betty’s greatest love was taking care of her family and friends and anyone else in need.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, William DeLapp and her 2nd husband, Archie Capps.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Wickham and husband Jim, North Granby, Connecticut; two grandsons, Blake and Austin Wickham; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Grant Cemetery near Creighton, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
