Mrs. Betty Lillian Semple of Harrisonville, Missouri was born September 9, 1925 in Rutland, Vermont the daughter of Edward Elbert and Bessie Lillian (Bowen) Eno. She departed this life on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at Lee?s Summit Medical Center, Lee?s Summit, Missouri at the age of 83 years and 15 days.
Betty was united in marriage to James Fredrick Semple.
Betty was employed as a claims adjuster for Blue Cross and Blue Shield until her retirement. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, the Sizzlin Sisters also known as the Red Hat Group of Harrisonville. She had lived in Kansas City and Belton before moving to Harrisonville in 2000. Betty enjoyed her family, sewing, porcelain doll collecting, making teddy bears, traveling and playing bingo. She enjoyed living at Hawthorn Estates and had made many friends. The family would like to thank, Carol, Nancy and Judith for being there.
Beside her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; a brother, Gerald Eno and a sister, Fern Jasmin.
She is survived by a son, James Semple and wife, Paula, Stockbridge, Georgia; Deborah Foote, Harrisonville, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Lindsay, Jeremiah, Hunter, Kyle, Brandon, Adam, Caleb and Jamie; a great-grandson, Brayden; a brother, Edward Eno, East Rutland, Vermont; other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services were held September 30, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at the Peculiar Missouri Cemetery.
