Billy Dale Osborne, 85, of Lee’s Summit, was born, July 13, 1931, in Bogard, Missouri, the son of Clarence James and Wilma Helen (Hockett) Osborne. He went home to the Lord, Monday, March 27, 2017, at Jefferson Health Care surrounded by love.
On March 23, 1952, he was united in marriage to Helen Louise Harryman in her parent’s living room in Kansas City, Missouri.
He was a proud United States Army veteran that served in the Korean War. He fought in active duty on the front line as a radioman. Bill tried his hand at several different careers from selling Insurance to owning his own pool hall before he found his true love of the Railroad. He was a welder for the Missouri Pacific railroad which later became Union Pacific railroad and retired from there in the 1980’s. He enjoyed camping, fishing, a good western movie and loved taking care of his family. He had a love for his wife that you rarely find, nothing made him happier than to take care of her, and he truly lived for his love of her.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Darlene Carrender and, brother Robert Osborne.
He is survived by his wife Helen of the home, daughter Pam (and Tim) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; daughter Karen (and Jim) of Grandview, Missouri, daughter Wanda (and Terry) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, daughter Karla (and Kevin) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; sister Julia Harris of Greenwood, Missouri; sister in law Beverly Osborne of Independence, Missouri, 9 grandchildren Jeremy Silvey, Missy Hodges, Daniel Ennis, Sean Tucker, Josh Tucker, Aimee Homan, Derick Homan, Spencer Montgomery, Kyle Homan and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 10:00 AM with funeral service starting at 11:00 AM at the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Interment will be at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens in Independence, Missouri following the funeral.
Casket bearers are Jeremy Silvey, Daniel Ennis, Sean Tucker, Josh Tucker, Derick Homan, and Kyle Homan.
