Billie Jean Montgomery

Billie Jean Montgomery of Garden City, Missouri was born on April 11th, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of William L. and Doris N. McBurrney. 

She departed this life on Saturday February 1, 2025 at Pleasant Hill Health and Rehab, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. 

She was a graduate of Paseo High School, Kansas City, Missouri in 1963. Billie was employed at the VA Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. 

Billie was a member of the United Methodist Church in Garden City, Missouri. Billie enjoyed spending time with family, loved feeding and spending time with her beloved animals and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and planting flowers.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy L. Montgomery. 

She is survived by her daughter Stephanie Boyd of Garden City, Missouri, son Christopher Edgar of Kansas City, Missouri, brother Robert McBurney of Kansas CIty, Missouri, five grandchildren Daniel (Roxy) Boyd of Creighton, Missouri, David Boyd of Harrisonville, Missouri, Jacob Boyd of Adrian, MIssouri, Carrie (Kenneth) Lanie-Boyd of Creighton, Missouri, Michael Edgar of Kansas City, MIssouri and three great grandchildren, Samuel Boyd, Westin Lanie and  Waylin Lanie along with other relatives and many, many friends. 

Cremation with no services scheduled. Inurnment will take place at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas at a later date.
