Mrs. Bonnie Lea Olson of Harrisonville, Missouri was born February 6, 1927 in Lockwood, Missouri the daughter of James Randalf and Alva Lora (McGown) McNeill. She departed this life on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 13 days.
On September 5, 1948, Bonnie was united in marriage to Lawrence Eugene Olson in Lockwood, Missouri.
Bonnie was employed as a secretary and coordinator for Commodity Foods in Harrisonville until her retirement. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Delvers Club and a 50 year member of the Bayard Chapter # 179 of the Eastern Star all of Harrisonville. Bonnie was supportive of her husband, Gene when served as the State Representative for the 124th District by giving tours at the State Capital for youth groups. Bonnie loved her family and grandchildren. She was a wonderful person never asking anyone for help and was willing to give anything to help others.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathryn Lefman of January 30, 2006; a brother, Howard McNeill; two sisters, Hazel Stall and Maxine Gum.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Olson of the home; a daughter, Karen J. Olson, Belton, Missouri; two grandchildren, Lori Nation and husband, Milt, Tampa, Florida, Adam Lefman, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; a great-granddaughter, Alexandria Hope Nation; a sister, Janice Barron, Winterville, Georgia; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 24, 2010 at the United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial at the Gray's Point Cemetery, Miller, Missouri.
Graveside services were held Monday, May 24, 2010 at the Gray's Point Cemetery, Miller, Missouri.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
