Carla Dyanne Hoshor Vogt, Urich, MO, was born in Maryville, MO on November 17,1947, the daughter of Dean Daryl Hoshor and Ruth Gertrude (Trudy) Kissinger Hoshor. She departed this life on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville, MO at the age of 65 year, 2 months and 6 days.
Carla was raised in Garden City, MO, the oldest of six children. She is a member of the 1st graduating class of Sherwood Cass R-VIII (1965). On March 5, 1966, she was united in marriage to Michael (Mick) Kent Vogt. Together they raised a family in Urich, MO. Throughout their marriage, Carla worked alongside her husband, Mick, at Western Electric, the Skelly station they owned and operated, raising hogs and cattle, operating a well-drilling company, and managing the Grand River Senior Housing in Urich. Carla was working as a bookkeeper at West Central Community Action Agency in Appleton City, MO until a stroke forced her into early retirement in 2005. After retirement, she continued to help Mick with Urich Fuel Company.
While working at West Central, Carla served as chapter president of the Missouri Association for Community Action. In 2006 she received the MACA award for Outstanding Service at their annual state conference. She was a member of the Urich Baptist Church where she took an active role in children’s and youth ministry. She also enjoyed traveling, crafts, scrapbooking/card making, gardening, cooking, swimming, and feeding her goldfish. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents as well as two brothers, Jerry Dean Hoshor and Randy Daryl Hoshor.
Carla is survived by her husband, Mick Vogt of the home; her son, David Michael Vogt of Urich, MO and fiance’, Michelle Bathgate; her daughter Brenda Jean Koch and husband, Rocky of Harrisonville, MO; two grandchildren, Jon Michael and Kristen Marie Koch and three siblings; Mark Thomas Hoshor and wife Norma of Dothan, Alabama; Neva Jean Allen and husband Roy of Knob Noster; Danny James Hoshor and wife Vickie of Lee’s Summit, MO; and many more precious relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.
