Mrs. Carla Jean Ring of Garden City, Missouri was born September 23, 1957 at Cody, Wyoming, the daughter of Virgil Brittain and Letha (Brown) Pepper. She departed this life Saturday, December 20, 2008 at her home at the age of 51 years, 2 months and 27 days.
On March 16, 1988 Carla was united in marriage to Gerald L. Ring in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Carla was co-owner of Ring Drywall, Garden City, with her husband, Gerald since 1998. She enjoyed swimming, playing dominoes, watching John Wayne movies, gardening, decorating, being outside and taking care of her pets. Carla loved football, NASCAR and riding wave runners at the lake. She was a great wife and mother who loved her family. Carla was full of energy and life. She loved meeting new people, helping her brother Jim on his farm and especially loved the beauty of Wyoming and wanted everyone to see the country and the mountains.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Miranda Sue Meins.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald L. Ring of the home, one son, Jerry A. Gullion, Independence, Missouri; one stepson, Shane L. Ring, Garden City, Missouri; two stepdaughters, Desirae Ring, Harrisonville, Missouri and Janae Meins, Garden City, Missouri; five grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Brittain, Cody, Wyoming and Kenny Brittain, Casper, Wyoming; four sisters, Debra Lee, Harrisonville, Missouri, Susan Fanciullo, Carter Lake, Iowa, Sandy Hulme, Omaha, Nebraska, Mildred Wise, Casper, Wyoming; her best friend, Debra Burton, Garden City, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Cremation. A memorial service will be held 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2008 at the United Methodist Church, Garden City, Missouri.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2008 at the church.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Carla Ring Memorial Fund and may be left at the Dickey Funeral Home or the Garden City Bank.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.
