Carol Joan Leslie

Carol Leslie, 87, formerly of Kingsville, MO, departed this life, Tuesday, May 9, 2023 in Lee’s Summit, MO.  She was born October 20, 1935, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to Lloyd and Naomi Juedes.

After graduating from Oshkosh High School, Carol attended nursing school in Chicago, Illinois and graduated as a Registered Nurse with the West Suburban Hospital Class of 1956.  During her nursing career, she worked at hospitals in Chicago, IL and Harrisonville, MO; at the Holden Manor retirement home; and helped as a Kingsville School nurse.  She also gave aid to family and friends in her rural community as they dealt with minor injuries and allergy shots.

On December 30, 1956, Carol married Gary Leslie in Gunn City, MO.  She was also a homemaker, a gardener, a farmer, and a bookkeeper as she helped Gary with his masonry business and the farm they shared.

Carol volunteered in the Kingsville community for many years in multiple capacities.  As a Kingsville Baptist Church member, she has been a Sunday School teacher, a pianist, a treasurer, etc.  She loved sports (KC Royals; KC Chiefs and secondly the Green Bay Packers) and coached a girls softball team for many years.  In 4-H she taught quite a few people how to knit.  Carol helped by sewing some of the red bell-bottom pants and sailor tops worn by girls in the Kingsville pep club in the 70’s and sewed quite a few letters on the high schoolers’ letterman jackets over the years.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Gary and her daughter D’Ann Shull.  She is survived by:  brother Don Juedes (Danice), Wisconsin; 3 daughters Dawn Nehring (David), Dixie Armstrong (John), Donna Wilson (Marvin); son Matthew Leslie; son-in-law Bob Shull.  Grandchildren:  Leslie Whitchurch (Jim), Greg Nehring, Adam Bush (Lindsey), Ryan Bush (Kati), Robert Shull (Rachel), Ross Shull (Blayke), Lauren Shull (Brett), Hailey Comfort (Jared), Hannah Wilson, Hattie Wilson, and Sophia Leslie (Seth).  Great Grandchildren:  Kale and Skylar Bush, Adalin and Brogan Bush, Reid Nehring, Ben Whitchurch, and another great grandchild on the way.

Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Kingsville Baptist Church, Kingsville, Missouri.

Family will receive friends 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Kingsville Baptist Church, Kingsville, Missouri.
