Charles William Boyce of Harrisonville, Missouri was born September 27, 1914 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Emmett Elmer and Adaline S. (Beagle) Boyce. He departed this life Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 25 days.
On November 14, 1945, Charles was united in marriage to Mary Marie Allen in Olathe, Kansas.
Charles was employed as a supervisor for Swift Packing Company and later Mobay Chemical Company where he retired from in 1979, both of Kansas City, Missouri. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Archie, Missouri where he enjoyed his Men's Sunday School class. Charles was a Merchant Marine veteran of World War II. He was an officer in the Harrisonville Senior Citizens and was treasurer of the Cass County Congress. Charles was a sports enthusiast and was a bat boy for the Kansas City Blues. He loved to Square and Polka Dance and he and Mary won First Place at the Missouri State Fair for Polka and Waltz Dancing. Charles had lived in Kansas City, Kansas, Lucas, Missouri, Archie, Missouri and Harrisonville, Missouri.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Elmer, Robert and Howard and a sister, Grace.
He is survived by his wife, Mary M. Boyce of the home; two sons, Ken Boyce and wife Kathleen, Kansas City, Missouri and Gary Boyce, Kansas City, Kansas; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 25, 2007 at the First Baptist Church, Archie, Missouri with burial in the White Oak Cemetery near Urich, Missouri.
