Charles E. Jones, 87, Harrisonville, Missouri died Sunday, May 9, 2010 at Cass Regional Medical Center, Harrisonville. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the St. Peter?s Episcopal Church, 400 W. Wall, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Orient Cemetery. Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Church Memorial Fund or charity of one?s choice.
Charles was born September 3, 1922 the son of Gilbert Asbury Sr. and Katie Ann (Ferebee) Jones.
On October 2, 1949, Charles was united in marriage to Helen L. Hellwig in Harrisonville.
Charles owned and operated Jones Painting Service in Harrisonville until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the St. Peter?s Episcopal Church, Harrisonville and a Navy veteran of World War II. Charles was also a member of the Cass County Shrine Club, Cass Masonic Lodge, Harrisonville Optimist Club and Ararat Shrine. He enjoyed antiqueing and collecting marbles. Charles was a good man who would do anything for his family and friends. Charles was a life long area resident.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Jones and G.A. Jones; five sisters, Theresa Cowan, Marie Jones, Imogene Goddard, Verna King and Lorena Hood.
Charles is survived by his wife, Helen L. Jones of the home; a son, Randie E. Jones and wife Frances, Huntsville, Texas; a daughter, Renee M. Sangster and husband Jim, Kansas City, Missouri; two grandsons, Randie C. Jones and wife Jennifer, Cody B. Jones and a great-grandson, Christopher Charles Jones all of Bryan, Texas; other relatives and many friends.
