Charlie Everett Lemka, of Latour, Missouri was born April 25, 1939 in Independence, Missouri the son of Fred Frank and Maudie Mae (Crow) Lemka. He departed this life Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 72 years, 8 months and 6 days.
On January 16, 1960, Charlie was united in marriage to Arlene Wilma Sayre in Independence, Missouri.
Charlie was employed as a mine foreman for the Union Quarries in Lenexa, Kansas until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the Laborers Union Local #663, Kansas City, Missouri. Charlie was a HAM Radio Operator and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, working on cars and painting cars and motorcycles. Charlie had lived near Latour since 1975.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Arlene Lemka and daughter, Kristie Lemka of the home; a son, E. Michael Lemka and wife Tammy and two daughters, Lisa C. Beeman and husband James and Jacque Hammond all of Latour, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Jeff, Daniel, Megan, Mikayla, John,Tatum and Logan; two brothers, Leonard Lemka, Nevada, Missouri, Fredrick Lemka, Harrisonville, Missouri; three sisters, Jeanette Moss, Latour, Missouri, Lennie Hessenflow, Independence, Missouri, Bernice Mitchell, Lone Jack, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery near Latour.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House.
