Mona Christine Holland of Harrisonville, Missouri was born October 30, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Henry Arthur and Winnie Nona (Evins) Bay. She departed this life on Monday, September 24, 2012 at her home in Harrisonville surrounded with love and family at the age of 69 years, 10 months and 24 days.
On May 14, 1960, Chris was united in marriage to John David Holland in Kansas City, Missouri.
Chris along with her husband, Dave formerly owned and operated Tastee Freeze and the Wallpaper Place in Harrisonville. She was a former Real Estate Agent and was a CNA at Cass County Memorial Hospital, Harrisonville. Chris was an avid bowler and enjoyed going to Casinos. She was a graduate of Westport High School, Kansas City and had lived in Kansas City before moving to Harrisonville in 1968. She will be remembered as loving mother and grandmother and for the love she gave her family.
Besides her parents, Chris was preceded in death by a brother, Frank E. “Sonny” Bay and a sister, Viva Hartley.
Chris is survived by her husband, Dave Holland of the home; two sons, Justin Holland, Leawood, Kansas, Steve Holland and wife, Sheryl, Harrisonville, Missouri; a daughter, Kristi Quick and husband, Todd, Harrisonville, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Brooke, Keely, Sarah, Lake, Madison, Olivia and Ashley; five great-grandchildren; Logan, Drew, Harmony, Soloman and Holland; a brother, Jerriel Bay and wife, Debbie, Lawtey, Florida; a sister, Wanda Dowd and companion, Raymond, Holiday Island, Arkansas; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 28, 2012 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with interment in Orient Cemetery, Harrisovnille.
Family suggests contribution may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Serenity Hospice.
