Christian August Bletscher, age 86, of Raymore, Missouri, died on December 5, 2014, at his home surrounded by family.
He was born on February 5, 1928, the son of Rudolf and Alda (Carlstrom) Bletscher, on a farm near Industry, Kansas. He attended local schools and graduated from DCCHS/Chapman High School with the class of 1945. Christian served in the United States Navy during World War II in the Asian theater. Most of his life was spent as a farmer, grain bin inspector, insurance agent, crop insurance adjuster, real estate broker, and auctioneer in Dickinson County, Kansas.
He was united in marriage to Anita Carlene Zumbrunn on August 8, 1948.
He is survived by his wife Carlene; a brother Rudy Bletscher; daughters Elisabeth Bletscher, Katherine (Shaun) Bletscher Rush, and Christy (Joel) Bletscher Papa; grandchildren Britta Julieanne Bletscher, Sawyer August Bletscher, Karina Bletscher Papa, and Bergen Bletscher Papa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Wendell Bletscher, and a sister, Dorla Reilly.
Chris, as he liked to be called, was a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose work ethic was the hallmark of his character. Inurnment will be at Greenridge Cemetery in Dickinson County, Kansas.
