Clara L. Jennings

CLARA LOUISE AUGUSTA (EILERS) JENNINGS was born June 17, 1918, in Ulm, Arkansas to Albert and Matilda (Lindner) Eilers. Clara’s mother died when Clara was only 19 months so Clara was raised by her grandparents Eilers. Clara had an especially close relationship with her grandfather, Fritz Eilers, and went almost everywhere with him. Clara attended business school in Little Rock for a year and went to work for Layne Western Company in Kansas City. She retired from there in 1975. Clara married Robert Jennings, June 18, 1955 in Lincoln, Missouri. They were married in Lincoln because Clara’s former pastor lived in Lincoln. She and Robert moved from Kansas City in 1975 to their farm south of Urich and later moved to Harrisonville in 1993. Clara was a member of the Freeman Presbyterian Church. Clara was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and husband Robert. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends
A Graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Freeman Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund or to Grace Hospice.
