Claude Monroe Childers, of Lee's Summit, Missouri was born February 22, 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Vernon Benjaman and Vera Eleanor (Williams) Childers. He departed this life on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the Village Hospice, Lee's Summit, Missouri surrounded by love and family at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 10 days.
On December 15, 1961, Claude was united in marriage to Paula Faye Kennedy in Blue Springs, Missouri.
Claude was a utility contractor for Childers and Company, Lee's Summit, Missouri. He was also a pastor for Fairmount Christian Fellowship, Independence, Missouri. Claude was a Navy veteran. He was a member of the Garden City Community Choir and enjoyed traveling and singing with the Maranatha Singers. Claude loved to run his machinery and had a taste for fine dining.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Christine Brown and Sharon Bough.
Claude is survived by his wife, Paula F. Childers of the home; three children, Coy Childers, Lee's Summit, Missouri, Troy Childers and wife Karri, Honolulu, Hawaii, Vicki Watters and husband Mark, Independence, Missouri; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Grace Pentecostal Church, Kingsville, Missouri with burial in the Clearfork Cemetery near Garden City, Missouri.
