Cleo Dale Burgard, of Garden City, Missouri was born May 15, 1931 in Columbus, Missouri, the son of Cleo Dale and Pauline (Hyatt) Burgard, Sr. He departed this life Monday, July 2, 2007 at South Fork, Colorado at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 17 days.
On October 9, 1969, Cleo was united in marriage to Helen Elizabeth (Johnson) Anderson in Kansas City, Missouri.
Cleo was a farmer until his retirement in the 1990's. Earlier, he was owner and operator of Kansas City Calculator, Co., Kansas City until 1973. Cleo was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Sycamore Grove Mennonite Church, near Garden City and served on the Board of Directors of the Harrisonville, Missouri Senior Citizens. Cleo loved spending time at his cabin in the mountains of Colorado. He had lived in Kansas City before moving to Garden City in 1969.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Helen E. Burgard; three daughters, Marlene Zygmontowicz and husband Ed, Platte City, Missouri, Marilyn R. Davis and husband Larry, Garden City, Missouri and Vicki Anderson, Suwanee, Georgia; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul C. Burgard, Columbus, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2007 at the Sycamore Grove Mennonite Church near Garden City, Missouri.
Graveside services were held 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2007 at the Columbus Christian Church Cemetery, Columbus, Missouri.
