Clyde 'Bill' Leroy Emick

March 5, 1922 — April 18, 2013

Clyde "Bill" Emick, of Raymore, MO was born March 5, 1922 in Urich, Missouri the son of William Henry and Jessie Ethel (Wells) Emick. He departed this life on April 18, 2013 at Foxwood Springs Living Center, Raymore, Missouri at the age of 91 years, 1 month and 13 days.
On May 8, 1948, Clyde was united in marriage to Mary Jo Lynch in Kansas City, Missouri.
Clyde was a 1939 graduate of the Urich High School. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1942 and served for 38 months until 1945 with the 11th U.S. Army. He spent 2 years in Alaska and the Aleutian Islands. Most of his time was in the islands including Kodiak, Adak and Anchitka and also spent 6 weeks in Anchorage. After the service, he was employed for 25 years at Nelly Don, Inc in data processing then returned to Urich with his wife, Mary Jo to “retire” on the farm. No matter what he did in life or where he went, farming was always in his blood. In 1998, they moved to Foxwood Springs.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary Jo Emick; a daughter, Cathy and a daughter-in-law, Rozanne.
Clyde is survived by his son, Raymond Emick, Shawnee, Kansas; a daughter, Betty Ferreri and husband, Alberto, Millesimo, Italy; two grandsons, Brian and Nathan Emick; other relatives and many friends.
Cremation. A Memorial Graveside service were held Thursday, April 25, 2013 at the Urich Cemetery, Urich, Missouri.
Celebration of Life Services were held Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Bromwell Lounge Foxwood Springs, Raymore, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Funeral services are under the direction of Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri.
