Colby Ray Brown of Kansas City, Missouri was born July 26, 1980 in Harrisonville, Missouri, the son of Cleve Claude Brown and Karazo Diane (Castle) Milner. He departed this life Tuesday, October 10, 2006 in Kansas City at the age of 26 years, 2 months and 14 days.
Colby was employed as a waiter for the Cheesecake Factory, Kansas City for the past two and half years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Freeman, Missouri. Colby was 1998 graduate of the Cass Midway High School and participated in football and was a proud member of the Vikings 1996-97 State Football Championship Team. He had attended Southwest Missouri State University, Springfield, Missouri and had lived in the Freeman area before moving to Kansas City in 2003. Colby was artistic, creative and loved to make people laugh by being the class clown with his famous impersonations and noise making. He built and collected model cars and was a professional video game player.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John M. Brown and a step-brother, Bret Milner.
Colby is survived by his father, Cleve Brown and his girlfriend, Neva Funk, Freeman, Missouri; his mother and step-father, Karazo and G.R. Milner, Village of Loch Lloyd, Missouri; a brother, Kyle Brown, Kansas City, Missouri; a step-brother, Scott Milner and wife Marcie, Harrisonville, Missouri; paternal grandmother, Grace I. Brown, Freeman, Missouri; maternal grandparents, Charles and Barbara Castle, Harrisonville, Missouri; his girlfriend, Gi Manaying, Kansas City, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 14, 2006 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. Cremation with inurnment in the Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, Missouri at a later date.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Cass-Midway Athletics and may be left at the funeral home.
