Dan Spinning, of Garden City, Missouri, was born January 17, 1949 in Harrisonville, Missouri, the son of Grant and Mary Louise (Amos) Spinning. He departed this life Saturday, July 4, 2009, at his home at the age of 60 years, 5 months and 17 days.
On September 7, 1968, Dan was united in marriage to Barbara Evans in Garden City, Missouri. To this union two children were born, Brian Keith and Amy Corrin.
Dan was a farmer and dairyman until he became sick at the age of 50. He attended Schuyler Country School and Garden City Elementary School. Dan was a member of the First Christian Church, Garden City. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, gardening and traveling. His real passion was his family. His grandchildren were a true blessing for him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Grant Spinning.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Spinning of the home; a son, Brian Spinning and wife Rena and a daughter, Amy Forst and husband Richard, all of Garden City; his mother, Mary Lou Spinning, Harrisonville, Missouri; three grandchildren, Logan, Veronica and Bethany; a sister, Mary Ann Jones, Freeman, Missouri; a brother, David Spinning, Garden City, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 9, 2009 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Garden City Cemetery.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Dan Spinning Memorial Fund in care of the Sherwood Communtiy Bank, Garden City, Missouri.
