Danny Ray Smith was born January 14, 1961 at Clinton, MO the son of Bobby L. and Dorothy L. Box-Smith. He departed this life on Tuesday September 25, 2012 at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, MO.
Danny graduated from Sherwood High School in 1979. Danny began his career as a Machinist in 1981 at Honeywell, and was a proud member of Local Lodge 778 for over 31 years.
Danny married Linda S. Cowan on May 10th, 1991 in Clinton, MO.
Danny had a passion for cars, from that passion he built his 1971 Chevrolet Nova. Danny and his Nova won many awards at various car shows. Danny loved car races, watching them on TV or attending them with his family and friends. Danny was also a well known mechanic for his family and friends. He loved spending time in his garage just tinkering around. Danny also had a love for fishing with his family/friends at Truman Lake. When winter time approached you could find Danny at another one of his favorite places "The Cabin" in Urich, MO.
Danny is survived by his wife Linda Smith of the home; two daughters, Ashley Cook-Carver of Garden City, Missouri, and Whitney Smith of Archie, Missouri; his mother and father, Dorothy and Bobby Smith of Urich, Missouri; a brother, Gary L. Smith of Clinton, Missouri; a sister, Donna Shipley and husband Martin of Drexel, Missouri; 3 nephews- Kevin Smith, San Deigo, CA, Tanner & Kiefer Shipley Drexel, MO and 1 niece Denise Bennett and husband Gregg Liberty MO 4 great nieces & nephews and other relatives and many friends.
Danny will be missed by all that knew him but we know he will be watching us from the holes in the floor of heaven.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Sepember 30, 2012 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. Cremation with inurment in Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
