David Michael Koehler, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born January 14, 1965 in Highland Park, Michigan, the son of LeRoy Albert and Judith Ann (Boyett) Koehler. He departed this life Thursday, January 3, 2008, at his home in Harrisonville at the age of 42 years, 11 months and 19 days.
David was a third generation machinist employed by Absolute Machine of Harrisonville, Missouri. He was a graduate of Harrisonville High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Physics from the University of Missouri - Columbia in 1987. David was an avid Star Trek and Star Wars fan. He also enjoyed reading, collecting books, genealogy, hunting and helping those in need.
He is survived by his parents, LeRoy and Judith Koehler, Harrisonville, Missouri; a brother, SSgt. Scott M. Koehler, Mountain Home, Idaho; two sisters, Kathy Goul and husband Roger, Paola, Kansas, Jennifer Koehler, Independence, Missouri; two nieces, Ashley Goul, Paola, Kansas and Rayna Villa, Independence, Missouri; his maternal grandparents, Helen and Woodrow Boyett, Osawatomie, Kansas; other relatives and many friends.
Cremation. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the funeral home.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
