Deborah 'Debby' Jo (Sulser) Douglass

Deborah "Debby" Jo Douglass, of Independence, Missouri was born July 9, 1953 in Harrisonville, Missouri the daughter of Franklin David and Betty Jo (Sloan) Sulser. She departed this life on Monday, November 7, 2016 at her home surrounded by love and family at the age of 63 years, 3 months and 29 days.
On February 14, 1987, Debby was united in marriage to Darrel Wayne Douglass in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Debby was a CNA for several nursing homes and was also a wonderful minister's wife helping wherever she could. She was a 1971 graduate of the Harrisonville High School and was a lifelong Harrisonville resident until she moved to Independence in 2012. Debby enjoyed doing arts and crafts, cooking, loved to travel and investing time in her children and grandchildren. She was a charitable person and gave to many different organizations.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Gina Lee Hayes; a brother, Franklin David Sulser; a sister, Theresa Gay.
She is survived by her husband, Darrel W. Douglass of the home; three children, Jody Hayes, Louisburg, Kansas, Jesse Hayes and wife, Tabitha, Raymore, Missouri, Abey Douglass, Farmington, Missouri; 4 grandchildren, Emma Lee Hayes, Tucker Spears, Sophia Hayes and Isabelle Hayes; a brother, David Sulser, Garden City, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
