Deborah A. Richey

Deborah Ann Richey daughter of Lloyd and Virginia Coday was born on August 17, 1957 in Kansas City MO and gained her wings on April 26, 2023 at St Luke’s Hospital in Lee’s Summit MO at the age of 65 years old, surround by her family.  Debbie lived in Garden City MO most of her life.  She was one of 5 sibling and enjoyed her beloved dog Pete, walking and coloring. 

Debbie was preceded in death by her husband Maurice (Pete) Richey and one grandson Coy Hughes Jr. 

Debbie was survived by her parents Lloyd and Virginia Coday of Warsaw MO, daughter Melissia Adams-Coday (wife Pepper Adams-Coday) of Creighton MO; 2 sisters Cheryl King (partner Dan Wilson) of Warsaw Mo and Sandy Bell (husband David Bell) of Belton MO; 2 brothers James Coday of Greenwood MO and Doug Coday of Greenwood Mo;  2 granddaughters Michelle Hughes of Pleasant Hill MO and Madison Moore of Rolla MO, 2 grandson Michael Moore of Pleasant Hill, MO and Dylan Adams-Coday of Creighton MO, 4 great grandkids, Sophia Foss, Cash Hughes, Waylon Hughes and Braxton Mauser along with many loving other family members and friends. 

To the very end Debbie enjoyed her family, friends and  living life to the fullest her way!!

Visitation and Celebration of Life:  To honor Debbie’s memory, we are holding a visitation and celebration of life on Friday, May 19, 2023  at Dickey’s Funeral Home 2401 E Mechanic Street,  Harrisonville, MO 64701.  Visitation will be held from 1:00pm to 2:00pm with services immediately following.  We invite anyone who knew her to come and remember her life.

Spreading of her Ashes:   The world became brighter on August 17, 1957 the day Debbie was born.  Debbie sadly passed away after a long battle with cancer. She will be sorely missed.  There will be ceremony to spread Debbie ashes at Gilbert Cemetery in Holden MO immediately following services

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Hospital Cancer Center, Kansas City, Missouri and may be sent in care of Dickey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 432, Harrisonville, Missouri.
