Denise Michele King of Independence, Missouri was born February 28, 1977 in Harrisonville, Missouri the daughter of Robert Wayne and Terry Jean (Hartman) King. She departed this life on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at her home in Independence at the age of 39 years, 10 months and 9 days.
Denise was employed as a tax examiner for the Internal Revenue Service in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Harrisonville. Denise enjoyed swimming, going to the lake, reading, canoeing, water skiing, playing pool and darts. She was a 1996 graduate of Raymore-Peculiar High School and had lived in Raymore, Missouri before moving to Independence.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Terry on August 7, 2006.
Denise is survived by her father and step-mother, Robert W. and Jeanne King, Independence, Missouri; her brother, Michael W. King and wife, Amanda, Edwardsville, Kansas; two nephews, James and Wyatt; a niece, Genessa; her paternal grandmother, Marge King, Garden City, Missouri; her maternal grandmother, Wanda Hartman, Overland Park, Kansas; other relatives and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life Service was held Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Final arrangements entrusted to Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
