Dr. Frein was born on August 1, 1932 in Belleview, IL the son of Elmer and Ida M. (Dooley) Frein. He was united in marriage to Martha Carol Turner on August 4, 1956 in Minneapolis, MN. He received his medical degree in 1956 from the University of St. Louis Medical School. Dr. Frein was on staff at Harrisonville Family Medicine and at Cass Regional Medical Center, Harrisonville and had been a practicing physician in Harrisonville since July of 1969. He was a United States Air Force veteran receiving the rank of Captain. A member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was a strong patron of the Arts. He was preceded in death by his parents. Dr. Frein is survived by his wife, Martha Frein of the home; 3 sons, Bill Frein and wife, Julie Baltimore, MD, Paul Frein, Grandview, MO, Matthew Frein and wife, Candice, Bloomington, MN; 2 daughters, Beth Frein, Lee?s Summit, MO, Ruth Best, Gary, IN; 4 grandchildren, Nathaniel, Aaron, Victoria and Katrina; 2 brothers, Charles Frein, Pevely, MO, John Frein, St. Louis, MO.
Funeral Mass was held Friday, Febrauary 18, 2011 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville, Missouri. Burial will be in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Family suggest memorial contributions may be made to the Cass Regional Medical Center Foundation or to the Nelson Atkins Museum.
