Donald Edward Eatherton Sr., of Garden City, Missouri, was born May 9, 1930 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Harry Estel and Gladys Elenda (Elder) Eatherton. He departed this life Tuesday, December 13, 2005, Cass Medical Center, Harrisonville, Missouri at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 4 days.
On January 26, 1951, Donald was united in marriage to Betty Louise Moore in Kansas City, Missouri.
Donald was employed as a signal maintainer for Kansas City Terminal Railway Company, Kansas City, Missouri for 39 years until his retirement in 1989. He was a Navy veteran and a member of the Sycamore Grove Mennonite Church near Garden City. Donald had moved near Garden City in 1985.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty L. Eatherton on July 19, 2004.
He is survived by two sons, Donald E. Eatherton Jr. and wife Amy, Archie, Missouri, Phillip A. Eatherton, Kansas City, Missouri; a daughter, Reylene E. Laney and husband Kenneth, Garden City, Missouri; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Catherine Gouldy, Seatac, Washington; other relatives and many friends.
Cremation. A memorial serivce was held Saturday, December 17, 2005 at the First Baptist Church, Archie, Missouri.
