Donald E. Keil, 59 of Belton, MO passed away Wednesday October 4th, 2017. He was born November 28th, 1957 to Donald and Barbara Keil in Independence, MO. After high school, Don enlisted in the military and served with the Army, Marines, and National Guard for over 30 years before retiring.
In 1983, Don married Janie Shipman. They were married for 16 years and had 3 children: Stacy, Daniel, and Shelby. On July 11, 2015 Don married Chris Tunnell at Lake Pomme De Terre.
Don loved to camp and has been going to Lake Pomme De Terre since 1963. He was a care-free person and the life of the party. A class clown with a one of a kind sense of humor. He loved to tell stories and make everyone laugh. He was loved by all who met him. He loved music and shared this passion with his kids. Don was a proud American and loved to serve his country.
Don was preceded in death by his father Donald M. Keil.
He is survived by his mother Barbara (Gene) Holtgrewe. Wife: Chris Keil Siblings: Fred (Debbie) Keil, Vickie Keil, and Stepbrother Donnie Holtgrewe. Children: Stacy Keil, Daniel Keil, Shelby (Taylor) York. Stepdaughters: Brandi (Jeff) Oliveira, Bethany (Bryan) Slusher. Grandchildren: Rivington York (Due 12/15/17), Courtney, Jolie, Alex, Wysteria, Gunner, Junior.
Don will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
The family received friends Monday, October 9, 2017 at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dooley Bend Cemetery, Wheatland, Missouri.
