Dora G. Gooseman of Garden City, Missouri was born July 30, 1920 the daughter of Julius Edward and Dovie Ellen (Danner) Juede. She departed this life on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Crown Care Center, Harrisonville, Missouri at the age of 92 years, 6 months and 1 day.
In the summer of 1937, Dora was united in marriage to Sgt. Elvin Kenneth Bradley, she later married John Franklin Gooseman on December 14, 1947 in Wellington, Missouri.
Dora was a homemaker and was proud to serve as a minister’s wife to her husband, John. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Garden City, the WMU and served as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher. Dora was a member of the Linger Longer Club and had served as President of the Garden City Senior Citizens at the Senior Housing Complex in Garden City. She liked to sew, cook and will be remembered for her baking. Dora had moved to Garden City in 1953.
Besides her parents, Dora was preceded in death by her first husband, Elvin who was killed in WW II on November 25, 1944; her second husband, John on November 21, 1983; four brothers, Paul, Wilbur, William and Jessie and her sister, Mary Jones.
Dora is survived by her son, Johnny R. Gooseman and wife, Pam, Grandview, Missouri; four daughters, Beverly Wainwright and husband, Willis Dale, Butler, Missouri, Kay Younce, Grandview, Missouri, Tony McKellips and husband, David, Kingsville, Missouri, Susie Gardner and husband, David, Kearney, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri. Burial in Dayton Cemetery near Garden City, Missouri.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice.
