Doug Brummett of St. Joseph, Missouri was born August 15, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of James Arvin and Betty Ann (Siens) Brummett. He departed this life Friday, March 10, 2006 at his home in St. Joseph at the age of 49 years, 6 months and 25 days.
Doug was in sales training and a public speaker and loved to make people laugh. He was a 1974 graduate of Raymore-Peculiar High School where he received All-State honors in basketball. Doug was a graduate of Central Missouri State University, Warrensburg. Missouri. He formerly was head basketball coach at Lakeland High School near Lowry City, Missouri. He had lived in Lee's Summit, Missouri before moving to St. Joseph.
He was preceded in death by his father, James.
He is survived by his mother, Betty A. Brummett, Raymore, Missouri; a brother, Tim Brummett and wife, Shirley, Lee's Summit, Missouri; a niece, Elise and a nephew, Michael; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Mo. with cremation and inurnment in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Mo.
Family suggests contributions may be made to the Grace Baptist Church memorial fund, Lee's Summit, Mo.
