Douglas Dean Grieser of Garden City, Missouri was born January 1, 1958 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota the son of Duane Daniel and Marilyn Ruth (Bachmann) Grieser. He departed this life on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at his home at the age of 64 years, 2 months and 9 days.
Douglas was employed as a truck driver for APAC in Harrisonville, Missouri. He loved hunting, fishing, building and renovating houses, gardening and coin collecting.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Grieser.
Douglas is survived by his son, Benjamin Grieser and wife Samantha, Creighton, Missouri; a daughter, Jana Riggs and husband John, Garden City, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; his mother, Marilyn Grieser, Garden City, Missouri; a brother, Pat Grieser and a sister, Linda Sisk, Garden City, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the United Methodist Church, Garden City, Missouri. People are welcome to bring a side dish or dessert.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
