Mrs. Edyth J. Woolery, of Holden, Missouri was born October 21, 1919 in Johnson County, Missouri the daughter of George Emory and Flossie Pearl (Shore) Coskey. She departed this life Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 90 years and 1 month.
On January 10, 1942, Edyth was united in marriage to Emery Ray Woolery in Medford, Missouri.
Edyth was a homemaker. Later she was employed as a greeter at Wal-Mart for 16 years and also at Weaver?s Jewelry Store both of Harrisonville. Edyth was a member of the First Baptist Church, Higginsville, Missouri, the Beta Sigma Phi, Harrisonville and was a graduate of the Chilhowee High School. When the children were younger, Edyth and her husband was actively involved in the Fairview Bethel 4-H. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, and crocheting. Edyth had lived in East Lynne, Missouri before moving to Harrisonville in 1979, then to Higginsville in 2008 and later to Holden.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emery Woolery on July 24, 1974; a great-grandson, Tristin Fairbanks in 2008; a brother, George Coskey; a sister, Carol Schneck.
She is survived by four sons, Clifford Woolery, East Lynne, Missouri, Leonard Woolery, Garden City, Missouri, Jerry Woolery, Peculiar, Missouri, Mike Woolery, Holden, Missouri; two daughters, Judy Pajer, Kansas City, Kansas, Nancy LaGore, Higginsville, Missouri; 19 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; a brother, Leonard Coskey, Milliken, Colorado; a sister, Pearl Kassing, Pleasant Grove, Utah; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial at Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the East Lynne Assembly of God Building Fund.
