Elda Mae (Mainard) Bledsoe Crust of Harrisonville, Missouri was born November 26, 1934 in Garden City, Missouri the daughter of Albert Henry and Opal Elizabeth (Hood) Mainard. She departed this life on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at a home near Harrisonville at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 22 days. Elda graduated from Garden City High School in 1952. Following graduation she married Irvin D. Bledsoe, giving birth to 6 children. Later, she was united in marriage to Don Elton Crust on July 20, 1987 in Smithville, Missouri.
Elda was a wonderful wife and mother. She enjoyed being a homemaker, playing cards, fishing and square dancing. Later, Elda was employed at the KCI Airport doing numerous jobs as well as working at a private home with handicapped children. For many years, one of Elda?s greatest passions was raising and selling dogs. She was an honest business woman and had many repeat customers. Elda was a member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Elda and Elton worked to bring awareness through a petition drive for widening of the curves on 7 Highway between Harrisonville and Pleasant Hill.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur H. and Ory A. Mainard.
She is survived by her husband, Elton Crust of the home; 6 children, Craig Lee Bledsoe, San Diego, California, Mitzi Gail Salava and husband Bill, William Henry Bledsoe all of Phoenix, Arizona; Karen Mae Eckstein and husband Bobby, Edgerton, Missouri, Deanna Louise Miller and husband James, Danville, Indiana, Stacey Lynette Jeanneret and Ken, Smithville, Missouri; two step-children, Lois Marie Roach and husband Mickey, Harrisonville, Missouri, D.L. Crust and wife Arrin, Drexel, Missouri; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Doris A. Meads, Lee?s Summit, Missouri, Dorothy J. Burns, Overland Park, Kansas, Gloria G. Pouzar, Lee?s Summit, Missouri; a brother, Sidney D. Mainard, Harrisonville, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Dickey Funeral Home, Hlarrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Garden City Cemetery.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
