Ellen Christine Sherrard

Ellen Christine Sherrard of Kingsville, Missouri was born February 11, 1924 in Clinton, Missouri the daughter of Reece Young and Fern Chestie (Smith) Koewn.  She departed this life on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at her home surrounded by love and family at the age of 99  years, 1 month and 11 days. 

Ellen was united in marriage to Ferguson Edd Sherrard in 1954.  

After Ellen graduated from high school she became employed at the Style Shop and the AG Grocery Store a clerk. Ellen was later employed  for 12 years as a telephone operator for United Telephone Company. After leaving the telephone company, Ellen became a homemaker and moved to the farm near Kingsville, Missouri and continued her work at the Style Shop in Harrisonville. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, Missouri and the Cass County Extension Club. 

Besides her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Ferguson in 1980; and her sister, Anna Mae Koewn Perigin in 1966. 

Ellen is survived by a nephew, Reece Edward Perigin, Mineral Wells, Texas and cousins, Leroy Smith, Mari Lou Patton, Marilyn Allen, Shirley Ledger and Clifton Smith of Lebanon, Missouri; other relatives and a host of friends.  

A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri. A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Riverside Cemetery, Warsaw, Missouri.
