Emery Allen Potter of Creighton, Missouri was born April 5, 1917 in Brighton, Colorado the son of Clinton Emery and Carrie Roselee (Eachus) Potter. He departed this life Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton, Missouri at the age of 90 years, 4 months and 20 days.
On April 14, 1987, Emery was untied in marriage to Beth Patricia Teeter in Independence, Missouri.
Emery was a self-employed automobile mechanic and was employed at several dealerships in northwest, United States. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a Pearl Harbor survivor and a licensed pilot. Emery was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. He had lived in Boulder Creek, Colorado, Garden City, Missouri and Prescott Valley, Arizona before moving to Creighton in 2003.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother.
He is survived by his wife, Beth P. Potter of the home; a son, Kent Potter, Crawford, Texas; three daughters, Loraine Hester, Quaker Hill, Connecticut, Joyce Smith, Crawford, Texas, Denise Concepcion, San Jose, California; three step-sons, Gerald McLean and Steve Thompson both of Independence, Missouri, Bruce Thompson, Odessa, Missouri; two step-daughters, Patricia Schultz,, Yuma, Arizona, Ellen Ingwerson, Creighton, Missouri; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sylvia Loid and Hilda Good both of Port Townsend, Washington; other relatives and many friends.
Cremation. A Memorial service was held Monday, September 3, 2007 at the First Baptist Church, Creighton, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
