Mrs. Esther Margaret Mueller of Creighton, Mo. was born April 5, 1917 in Diggins, Mo. the daughter of Fred Carl and Bertha Helen (Hunhollz) Kollmeyer. She departed this life on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Cass Medical Center, Harrisonville, Mo. at the age of 91 years, 2 months and 3 days. In 1942, she was united in marriage to Harley L. Cummins and later married Leonard John Mueller on August 8, 1954. Esther was a homemaker. She was earlier employed as a licensed Cosmetologist and Beautician in Springfield, Mo., with Bell Telephone, O'Reilly Hospital and the V.A. Medical Center, Kansas City. She assisted Leonard on the farm and spent the next twenty years raising her children. She was a 60 year member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Creighton and a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Esther used to drive around Creighton and round up kids to attend Bible School during the summer.
Esther loved sewing, working in the garden, growing flowers and canning her own vegetables. Her famous ""corn bags"" were used by many to sooth tired aching muscles. She could make a dollar stretch a mile. She was ""the best"" at fixing and patching things such as torn jeans.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harley in 1946, her second husband, Leonard on March 16, 1975; a daughter, Karen; 3 brothers, Ervin, Walter and Melvin; a sister, Velma.
She is survived by 2 sons, Kenneth H. Cummins and wife, Tammy, Clinton, Mo., Vic Mueller and wife, Kathy, Creighton, Mo.; a daughter, Linda Norris and husband, Bill, Creighton, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 4 gt-gt-grandchildren; a brother, Louis Kollmeyer, Ellensburg, Wa.; a sister, Dorothy Bass, Springfield, Mo.
Her faith in God was strong; she found good in everyone. She touched many lives with her unconditional love. We will all miss her very much.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the Trinity Luntheran Church, Creighton, Missouri.
Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Cemetery Association.
