Mrs. Evelyn Loretta Officer, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born April 19, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Hugo John and Mary Beatrice (Fox) Crass. She departed this life on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at St. Luke’s East, Lee’s Summit, Missouri at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 11 days.
On February 3, 1951, Evelyn was united in marriage to Robert Bruce Officer in Independence, Missouri.
Evelyn was a homemaker and a guardian angel to her family. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville. Evelyn enjoyed ceramics, stain glass, line dancing and was a hard worker on the farm and her garden. She had lived in Independence before moving to the farm near Harrisonville in 1962 and she and Bob had been snow birds to Texas since 1999.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Evelyn is survived by her husband of 61 years Bob Officer of the home; her three sons, Mike Officer and his wife Barb of Weldon Springs, Missouri, David Officer and his wife Lisa of Ozark, Missouri, and Jerry Officer and his wife Nancy of Bosworth, Missouri; a daughter, Judy Wendel and her husband Bill of Harrisonville, Missouri; eight grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Crass of Versallies, Missouri,, and Bob Crass of Kansas City, Missouri; a sister, Terri Chapman of Warsaw, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Mass was held Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville, Missouri under the direction of Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Cremation.
The family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the Our Lady Of Lourdes Church memorial fund.
