Mrs. Florence Elizabeth McCord, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born May 26, 1910 in Harrisonville, Missouri, the daughter of Charles and Susie (Coleman) Dealy. She departed this life Wednesday, February 4, 2009, Camden Health Center, Harrisonville at the age of 98 years, 8 months and 8 days.
In May of 1930, Florence was united in marriage to Thornton Lee McCord in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Florence was an Avon Sales Representative in Harrisonville for 60 years from 1946 until her retirement in 2006. She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church, Harrisonville. Florence was a lifelong Harrisonville resident and a graduate of the Harrisonville High School.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thornton McCord on May 22, 1960; a half brother, Charles A. Dealy and two half sisters, Wilma Hurst and Dorothy Hines.
She is survived by a son, Dr. Berry L. McCord and wife Gloria, Sierra Madre, California; two grandsons, Marc McCord and Jud McCord; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 8, 2009 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville with burial in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
