Frances Ann Turner of Harrisonville, Missouri was born July 21, 1942 in Gallatin, Missouri the daughter of John Francis and Nellie Marie (Place) Lindsey. She departed this life peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, December 17, 2007 at the age of 65 years, 4 months and 26 days.
On June 20, 1959, Frances was united in marriage to Rev. Charles H. Turner in Independence, Missouri. Frances was a lifelong learner and taught over 30 years at Tri-City Christian, Beaumont Christian, New Hope Christian and Harrisonville Christian Schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, East Lynne, Missouri where she taught children's church, Sunday school and was a leader in the women's ministry. Frances was continually volunteering or teaching and was involved with CASA as a Child Advocate; volunteered as a parole officer in Jackson County, Missouri; earned an Administration of Justice degree from UMKC; and was awarded Who's Who Among America's Teachers nine times. She loved life, her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Elijah.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Charles H. Turner of the home; two sons, James Turner and wife Julie, Independence, Missouri, Paul Turner and wife Sondra, Hermitage, Tennessee; Frances was a loving grandmother to her five grandchildren, Cassy Schopfer, James Robert (Jimmy) Turner, Paul Turner, Shelbi and Morgan Turner and to her two great-grandchildren, Haley and Ava Schopfer.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the Harrisonville Mennonite Church, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Graveside service and interment was held Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the Greenwood Cemetery, Gallatin, Missouri.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of East Lynne, Missouri Memorial Fund.
