Francis Wayne Leake, of Harrisonville, Missouri, was born March 1, 1938 in Ralls County, Missouri the son of Homer James and Gladys Rose (Durbin) Leake. He departed this life Sunday, June 20, 2010 at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 19 days.
On June 7, 1963, Wayne was united in marriage to Helen May Kurz in Kansas City, Missouri.
Wayne was employed as a diesel mechanic for the Yellow Freight Company, Kansas City, Missouri until his retirement in 1995. He loved to fish, ride motorcycles and fly his remote control model airplanes. Wayne attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville. He had lived in Grandview, Missouri for 35 years until he moved to Harrisonville in 2001.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, May, Helen, Doris and Joyce and a brother, Bill.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Helen Leake of the home; five sons, Butch Leake and wife Paula, Moberly, Missouri, Mark Leake and wife Karen, Lee?s Summit, Missouri, David Leake, Harrisonville, Missouri, Chris Leake and wife Michelle, Lee?s Summit, Missouri, Matthew Leake, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; three daughters, Mary Brown and husband Kenny, Teresa Painter and husband Bill and Myrna Leake all of Kansas City, Missouri; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; three brothers, Tony Leake, Cleveland, Missouri, Sam Leake, Perry, Missouri, Mike Leake, Hannibal, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service will be held at the Bienhoff Funeral Home, Perry, Missouri with burial at the Grandview Cemetery, Hannibal, Missouri.
