George Kenneth Leslie of Adrian, Missouri was born February 20, 1921 near Garden City, Missouri the son of George Emmet and Fannie Maria (Sexson) Leslie. He departed this life Thursday, February 8, 2007, Adrian Manor Nursing Home, Adrian at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 18 days.
On, February 26, 1968 George was united in marriage to Margery Mae (Smith) McCoy in Kansas City, Missouri.
George was employed as a machinist for Kansas City Power and Light Company, Kansas City, Missouri until his retirement in 1987. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Swope Park Masonic Lodge #617 A.F. & A.M., Kansas City. George enjoyed the outdoors and especially crappie fishing. He had grown up in Garden City, Missouri and had lived in Kansas City and Harrisonville, Missouri before moving to Adrian in 2006.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margery on February 21, 1998; two sons, Kenneth and David Leslie; three daughters, Judy Phelps, Georgia Jean Leslie and Joyce Leslie; a brother, Glenn C. Leslie.
He is survived by three sons, Calvin K. Leslie, Westcliffe, Colorado, Stephen Leslie, Drexel, Missouri, Richard Leslie, Kansas City, Kansas; a step-daughter, Margery Ann McCoy, Huntsville, Missouri; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with interment with military honors at Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, Missouri.
