Gladys Louise Edwards of Bolivar, Missouri formerly of Harrisonville, Missouri was born May 1, 1922 in Harrisonville, Missouri the daughter of Jessie Franklin and Goldie Louise (Root) Belk. She departed this life on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Citizens Memorial Healthcare, Bolivar, Missouri at the age of 94 years, 10 months and 30 days.
On September 2, 1946 Gladys was united in marriage to William Nelson Edwards in Butler, Missouri.
Gladys was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Harrisonville, Missouri. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing and being with her family. Gladys had lived in Harrisonville before moving to Bolivar in 1994.
Besides her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Bill on October 21, 1996 and her son, James F. Edwards; great-grandson, Jareth Meyers; a brother, Lauren Belk.
Gladys is survived by a daughter, Connie Lucht, Oxford, North Carolina; a daughter-in-law, Joann Edwards, Pleasant Hope, Missouri; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; other relatives and host of friends.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Final arrangements entrusted to Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
