Gloria Lee Winters, 77, of Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of Riverside, was born March 29, 1936, the daughter of Eber L. and Ruth L. Driver. She departed this life at 3:46 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013, at her home surrounded with love and family.
On December 27, 1971, she was united in marriage to Paul James Winters in Liberty, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2001.
Early in her life Gloria had been employed as a teller for the Westport Bank, later she worked as a LPN for Lakeside Hospital. Following her marriage to Paul she became a full time stay at home mother and homemaker.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the American Legion Post #61. She loved knitting, and crocheting in her spare time, and loved animals of all types.
She is survived by her daughter Cassandra (and Cory) Whitmore of Kansas City, Missouri; one step-son Gary (and Debbie) Winters of Richmond, Missouri; six grandchildren, Marcus Santoyo, Jessica Santoyo, Charlie Whitmore, and Chett Whitmore, all of Kansas City, Missouri, and Gary Adam Winters and Amber (and Chris) Tompkins, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; one great granddaughter Reese of Kansas City; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at the funeral home. Reverend D. Kent Deubner minister of the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church will officiate. Interment will be in Staley Mound Cemetery. Casket bearers are Marcus Santoyo, Cory Whitmore, Gary Adam Winters, Charlie Whitmore and Chett Whitmore.
