Grace Brown

Mrs. Grace Irene Brown of Freeman, Missouri was born October 4, 1917 near Peculiar, Missouri the daughter of Guy Earlscourt and Mary Eleanor (McCarty) Crissman. She departed this life Sunday, January 13, 2008 at Golden Years Care Services, Harrisonville, Missouri at the age of 90 years, 3 months and 9 days.
On July 1, 1936, Grace was united in marriage to John Milton Brown in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Grace was a homemaker. She earlier was employed as a seamstress for The Little Shirt Factory in Freeman from 1966 until 1985. Grace was a member of the First Baptist Church, Freeman. She enjoyed her family, flowers her garden and quilting. Grace had been a Freeman resident since 1942.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John on December 31, 1988; a son, Jimmie Dan Brown on July 11, 1996; a grandson, Colby Ray Brown on October 10, 2006; a brother, Ernest Crissman; two sisters, Bernice Funston and Josephine Ausbrooks.
She is survived by two sons, Guy B. Brown and Cleve C. Brown both of Freeman, Missouri; three grandchildren, Brooke, Criss and Kyle; a sister, Mary Culp, Kansas City, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 19, 2008 at the Dickey Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Freeman Cemetery.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Freeman Baptist Church Memorial Fund and may be left at the funeral home.
