Grover Cleveland Hook Jr., of Freeman, Missouri was born August 25, 1937 in Freeman the son of Grover Cleveland and Mary Elmeda (Downs) Hook. He departed this life on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the Cass Regional Medical Center, Harrisonville, Missouri at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 7 days.
On June 14, 1959, Grover was united in marriage to Florence Gayle Beck in Kansas City, Missouri.
Grover was employed as a welder for Pittman Manufacturing in Grandview, Missouri. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Harrisonville. Grover loved to hunt, fish, sports, and spending time with people and especially his family.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Hook on June 7, 2009; a daughter, Jael Louise Hook; several brothers and sisters.
Grover is survived by his son, Dewayne Glenn Hook and wife Debra, Freeman, Missouri; a daughter, Sherri A. Moore, Harrisonville, Missouri; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; his brother, Clarence Hook; three sisters, Dorothy Sexton, Rosemary Pulliam and Lois Swearingin; other relatives and many friends.
Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service was held Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Harrisonville, Missouri.
A lunch will follow the services on Saturday at the Harrisonville Parks Activity Center.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cass County Cremation Services, Harrisonville, Missouri.
