Harold Kenneth Anderson of Harrisonville, Missouri was born January 2, 1919 in Harrisonville the son of Walter James and Mary Bernice (Berry) Anderson Sr. He departed this life on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Adrian Manor, Adrian, Missouri at the age of 96 years, 4 months and 6 days.
On June 15, 1941, Harold was united in marriage to Cara Wilma Thomas in Malta Bend, Missouri.
Harold was a farmer and stockman and later was employed at Anaconda Wire and Cable, Harrisonville until his retirement. He joined the Grand River Baptist Church where he was baptized on July 31, 1933. Harold was an Army veteran of World War II. He served as chief radar operator in New Guinea and in Luzon in the Philippines receiving the rank of Sergeant. He was a lifelong resident of Cass County until 2014 when he moved to Adrian, Missouri. Harold enjoyed hunting and fishing and playing his guitar.
Besides his parents, Harold was preceded in death by a grandson, Josh Anderson; 2 brothers, Walter and Robert; three sisters, Mildred Morris, Elenor Osborn and Mary Doris VanCamp.
Harold is survived by his wife, Cara Wilma Anderson of the home; 5 children, Gayle Lawson (Leroy), Archie, Missouri, Kenneth Wayne Anderson (Millie), Weaubleau, Missouri, Walter Lee Anderson (Merry), Harrisonville, Missouri, Kay Terry (Phil), Weaubleau, Missouri, Gerald Anderson (Ramona), Adrian, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Graves and Jean Moody both of Harrisonville, Missouri; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, Missouri.
