Iona Ann (Allison) Elliott was born December 29, 1939 to Nebartus Sproal and LouElla Whiteman Allison in Garden City, Missouri. She slipped peacefully into the arms of the Lord on April 9, 2013 at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 11 days.
Iona graduated Garden City High School in 1957. After graduation, she began working for First National Bank in Kansas City, Missouri. On February 14, 1958 she married the love of her life, Charles Roger Elliott. To this union four children were born: Jeff, Julie, Jeanie, and Jerry. Iona worked as a secretary in several county government offices including the County Collector and County Assessor.
Iona was preceded in death by her parents Nebartus (Andy) and LouElla Allison, and by an infant brother who died shortly after birth.
Iona is survived by her husband of 55 years Charles of Lee’s Summit, MO; children: Jeff Elliott (Lindy) of Lee’s Summit, MO, Julie Blanchard (Randy) of Houston, TX, Jeanie Cook (David) of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Jerry Elliott (Pauline) of Lee’s Summit, MO; 13 grandchildren: Ethan, Andrew, and Alec Blanchard, Allison, Abbie, and Ashlyn Cook, Jace and Jesse Elliott, and Amanda Lee, Austin and Alec Breed, and Carson and Camryn Elliott; one sister Arlene Palmer, Garden City, MO.
May God bless her memory and bring peace and comfort to those who mourn.
Visitation with family present will be Sunday, April 14th at Dickey Funeral Home in Garden City, MO from 2-4 p.m. Family will hold private graveside services at a later date following cremation.
